To examine and rate the candidate’s overall qualifications for the post to which they have applied, interviewers should fill out a candidate evaluation form. When using a candidate assessment form as a tool and resource for best practices, rather than a mandate, follow these recommendations and guidelines.
Choose the most qualified candidate for the position. Most qualified does not always imply the applicant with the highest level of formal education or the most years of experience. It also does not imply that the candidate with the greatest aggregate score is the best candidate. The most qualified is the candidate who is able to demonstrate they meet or exceed the criteria for the role, and who may also bring a different cultural perspective or unique expertise to the position and department.
